"UHHHHH! Oh NO! UHHHHHH!"
— Principal McVicker

Principal McVicker is a recurring character in Beavis and Butt-Head, serving as the "main antagonist" of the series.

He is the principal of Highland High and one of Beavis and Butt-head's main victims, and arguably their biggest one. The duo often cause him trouble, calling him "McDicker" and damaging his school and his mental health. As a result, he stutters anxiously frequently and is rather harsh, especially to Beavis and Butt-Head, whom he hates. He is voiced by Mike Judge.

Biography[]

Little is known about McVicker, and his legacy, within Highland High (other than the fact that it's ruined thanks to the duo). All that is known about him is that he is old, was born sometime in the 20th century, takes medication due to his shakes and seizures, is an alcoholic, and constantly talks like he's about to have an heart attack (which is ironic, since it actually happened in the series once).

Physical appearance[]

He's a fat, balding, likely middle-aged man of slightly above average height who wears glasses. His outfit consists of a dark grey uniform with a white shirt and dark green neck tie underneath the coat, and a pair of black/brown shoes.

Personality[]

Principal McVicker has an unstable and troubled personality. He tends to have minor seizures during school hours from time to time and gets angry from whatever goes wrong with people like Beavis and Butt-Head and even peace-loving teacher David Van Driessen. His despises Beavis and Butt-Head, and believes that they're idiots and complete monsters. He doesn't support people like the boys, and it's implied that he doesn't support any of his students.

As a shaky person, he takes medication in the show to calm his nerves, but for the most part, he is angry just about every day. During the Scared Straight Program, instead of looking at records of the students, he looks at pictures at students that he believes are criminals.

However, despite his hatred for the duo, it has been implied that he still has a small modicum of hope left for them, or at least Beavis. In the episode "The Great Cornholio", when Beavis mumbles an apology (obviously not remembering his Cornholio spiel), McVicker was so pleasantly surprised that he let Beavis go, without any punishment. This likely went away after Beavis reverted to his Cornholio persona at the end of the episode.

Video games[]

  • McVicker appears in the Sega Genesis video game. To gain the ticket piece on his head, the player must have both liquid containers from Mr. Buzzcut's classroom, at the same time, so they will mix. By giving him the liquid, it will explode, after which he will sniff it and pass out, losing the ticket piece in the process.
  • McVicker appears in Beavis and Butt-head: Virtual Stupidity, at the start where he guards the outside of Highland High. The duo have to go to the roof and hock a huge loogie onto him. After that, he will race up to the roof and get trapped up there (the duo go down a vent to escape); he will remain up there for the rest of the game, and can be heard calling for help.
  • McVicker appears as a playable character and a cutout in Beavis and Butt-head: Bunghole in One.

Trivia[]

  • Despite being labeled as a villain, McVicker became what he was because of Beavis and Butt-Head's antics, stupidity, and even to his career before the duo; thus, he had a difficult life.
  • The original run of the series ended with McVicker having a heart attack. For many years, until season 8, McVicker was presumed dead.
    • It is currently unknown if he is still alive in the 2022 revival, because of his old age and health issues.
  • McVicker was inspired by a band teacher that Mike Judge knew in the 9th grade. Judge had stated that the teacher trembled and "always smelled like alcohol", which is what McVicker can be regularly seen gulping down.
  • In "No Laughing", his name was incorrectly spelled as McVicar.
  • He never seems to notice that Beavis and Butt-head are employees at Burger World or what they do with the food and appliances there.
  • When sufficiently angry, McVicker shows his impressive strength by picking up Beavis and/or Butt-head by the neck and choking them.
  • In Do America, it is revealed that McVicker likes prostitutes, as the duo walk in on him in a motel being spanked by one.
